Construction of the Atwima–Mim CHPS Compound

Project Description

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Atwima Nwabiagya Municipal has officially cut sod for the construction of a new Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound at Atwima–Mim.

The project forms part of efforts by the Government of Ghana to improve access to quality healthcare, especially in underserved communities. When completed, the CHPS compound is expected to bring essential health services closer to residents, reducing travel time and easing pressure on larger health facilities.

Speaking at the ceremony, the MCE emphasized the importance of strengthening primary healthcare delivery and reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to supporting health infrastructure development across the municipality.

Community leaders and residents welcomed the initiative, expressing optimism that the facility will help address challenges such as delays in accessing medical care and inadequate health services.

The CHPS compound will provide basic healthcare services including maternal and child health, disease prevention, and health education, contributing to improved health outcomes in the area.

Construction is expected to commence immediately, with stakeholders urging contractors to ensure timely completion of the project.
