The Atwima Nwabiagya Municipal Assembly is set to commemorate the upcoming 69th Independence Anniversary of Ghana with a colorful municipal celebration on 6th March 2026 at the Abuakwa–Asenemaso School Park.
Celebrated every year on Ghana Independence Day, the occasion marks the historic moment in 1957 when Ghana became the first Sub-Saharan African nation to gain independence, symbolized by the iconic Black Star Gate in Accra. This year’s celebration in Atwima Nwabiagya will bring together traditional leaders, students, public servants, and community members to reflect on Ghana’s journey of nation-building.
The event will begin at 8:00 AM sharp and will feature a parade by school children, cultural performances, and patriotic displays highlighting Ghanaian unity and pride. The program will also emphasize the national theme “Building Prosperity, Restoring Hope.”
Municipal authorities encourage residents across the municipality to attend and actively participate in the celebration. The event also recognizes national leadership under John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, while reaffirming the municipality’s commitment to development, unity, and progress.
As Ghana celebrates 69 years of independence, the Atwima Nwabiagya community will proudly join the rest of the nation to honor the sacrifices of the nation’s forebears and renew hope for a brighter future.
